I have been to numerous chiropractic appointments over the past three years and I am serious when I say that Dr. Rabbonni is the best chiropractor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He was very flexible inbooking my first appointment and upon first entering, he greeted me with a smile and gave me a great breakdown of what to expect when working with him. You can definitely tell that he loves what he does and has very in-depth knowledge of the subject.
Dr. Rabbonni was thorough in my diagnosis and asked pertinent, specific questions of where I was experiencing pain. What distinguishes him from other chiropractors is his attention to detail, especially when it comes toaddressing the root cause (as opposed to the symptoms of pain). He paid a lot of attention to my muscles and only after that, did he do the adjustments that I am typically used to.
I felt immediate relief after thevisit and will definitely continue working with him in the future. He even called and emailed me to follow-up on how I was feeling after the visit - now THAT is signs of someone who actually cares about their patients. Thank you, Dr. Rabbonni!

I showed up Axis Chiropractic with my hips/spine twisted way out of line, feeling sore and also sorry for myself. Dr. Rabonni Tacusalme treated me gently for almost 2 hours, with heat, electro-stim and some clacketly massage-thingy (OK, I was lying face down and couldn't see it. : ) After 2 sessions, I was feeling soooo much better. BTW, I live in Vermont...if I lived closer, he'd be my go-to chiro. I strongly recommend him.

this afternoon, at a friend's recommendation, i paid a visit to dr. rabbonni tacusalme at axis chiropractic. i went in with pain and tightness in my shoulders and middle back, as well as in my hips (probably all as a result of playing roller derby for 7 years, but i digress). dude spent an hour and a half with me, using various gadgets such as electro stim pads, heat blankets, a vibraty back massager thing and of course, hands, to figure out what was going on and help make it better. he's not yer usual chiro - he didn't even adjust anything until i'd been there
for more than an hour, and even then it was a couple minor pops and cracks. nothing like the uber-crunch and munch i've experienced in other offices. i actually felt *better* after leaving! and he didn't try to "diagnose" me with anything or schedule me for a bazillion appointments in a row to take my money. this guy actually cares, and wants to help people feel better. on top of that, he has a history as a professional athlete and pro-am skateboarder, so he knows sports injuries well. i will be recommending dr. rabonni to my derby league-mates and friends. he is a swell dude.

I sought treatment with Dr. Tacusalme a couple of years ago when I was rear ended in a freeway car accident. I was very locked up in my neck and back due to whiplash and found it difficult to sit for long periods of time, drive and get up out of bed in the morning.
Dr. Tacusalme's treatments involved the use of some electrical stimulation, heat, massage and gentle adjustments. His care and healing touch was much appreciated and helped me to get back to normal. This was much appreciated, as it allowed me to get back to my passion of playing golf!
Thank you Dr. Tacusalme. I highly recommend you!

First off no foodinvolved in this review, however, if there was Dr.Rabbonni would be a very sought out Chef!!
Most doctors are good at there jobs, Dr. Rabbonni is excellent. His bedside manner is also excellent. He knows how to put you at ease and he takes the time to explain things, something most doctors are to busy for. He also seems very knowledgeable and is always upbeat.
I have been seeing him for 6 months and can say I always feel better after a visit. I came in recovering from a very serious knee injury and have been in a lot of pain. His background as a professional athlete is huge because I think he understands sports injuries more personally than most doctors do. I am feeling a lot better these days and now I just go in for tune ups once every few weeks!
Best chiropractor in the sunset hands down, especially with his added knowledge of sports related injuries!! What a hidden jewel
of an office to find in the sunset! A+
Location: GREAT! Judah and 9th street off the N line less than a half of block away! Very convenient and easy to get to.
Food: Lot's of good eats all within a block! Pizza, thai, veggie, bistro, star*ucks, you get the idea.

I recently jammed my hand in an idiotic way and had Rabbonni look at it on my regular visit. He fixed my usual problem and with ease did a correction to my hand that took care of it. It had been messed up for a month and then it just wasn't. Fantastic.
I have been going to Axis since I popped a rib years ago, 2004 I think. Rabbonni always helps with the problem and most important he uses heat and electric stimulation to loosen the muscle before moving the bones back into place. I used to go to a different chiro who basically did assembly line pops and I always hurt more after going. Axis is fabulous. He has a sliding pay scale to accomodate low budgets but is worth his full cost if you can pay it.

I saw Rabbonni last week for the first time. Having been with numerous chiropractors over the past 15 years for various physical maladies both here in SF and in NYC, I am familiar with good chiropractic work.
Rabbonni is excellent. Not just "good" - he's excellent.
He knows a lot of techniques, he's got a great personality and he also has a great sense of humor which is crucial when getting various parts of your anatomy adjusted. It kind ofhelps ease the tension ... !

After a minor car accident and already recuperating from shoulder surgery, Rabbonni was able to treat me and take what could have been a major setback into a minor week...also in the healing process he is willing to explore the different avenues and channels to co-create a well body...and he cracks me up with his silly humor
Mr. Rabbonni Tacusalme is not only chiropractor, but also a healer, who understands the whole picture of a human being not only on physical / structural level, but also energetically, which makes a huge difference in overall healing! I love his treatments where he can tell me exactly what is out of place and brings it nicely back together and energy can start to flow right away. I feel he spends lots of time with each patient, so your money is well spent on your well being you deserve! With my personal healing I also had an emotional energy get unstuck in my cervical spine, after he adjusted my skull, which most chiropractors never do, and which affected my healing on a profound level. ~

Rabbonni Tacusalme is more than a chiropractor. He listens first, ask questions next then listens again and then works with your body to bring aboutpain relief and subsequent healing. And it works, my injury is on the mend and although I hope I don't need to, I would not hesitate to call the doctor if I get hurt again...
Dr. Rabbonni Tacusalme totally saves me. I train super hard in circus arts, fall sometimes and need to get back on my feet to training and my active life. When I get a treatment from Rabbonni he is spot on with his adjustments and I know my healing is speed up from his care.
I'm so grateful for him. I would recommend him to anyone, especially athlete. Have you seen his children, I know they get adjustments and they are bright, smart active kids. Really cool to see.
My family and I have been treated by Rab & his group for 10 yrs.
My tall adolescent daughter is a dancer & actress who sometimes experiences minor injuries in rehearsal and on stage. My partner is an avid cyclist always in training for one of his many competitive ride. The Axis colleagues are always responsive to sports related injuries whether on an urgent basis or when seen on regular check ups.
As an RN and doula I also highly recommend Axis Chiropractic for pregnant women. I refer my clients to him when they are experiencing
low back pain and wish to consult with someone with his expertise. In addition his ability to balance and relax new mums as they approach their due date is amazing.
I've seen many Chiropractors, Dr. T. fits the bill and is worth every penny. I'm a sports enthusiast; injuries comes and goes. He is intuitive and listens to you, your body and your concerns. I trust him with all my injuries. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS WELLNESS VISITS TO STAY "IN LINE" AND LIMBER TO PREVENT INJURY.
I remember coming here last year to get my back checked out after landing on my back from a recent snowboard trip. Dr. Tacusalme took care of me for a few weeks, and after that I felt a lot better. I'll be sure to be back if anything happens to my back.
I do know the doctor...but I will review anyway because folks need to know about this natural healer with the sensitive talent he has required to adjust and balance a body. Dr. Tacusalme is a holestic healer and takes the time to understand his patients life. Admirably, his personal background is full of love and devotion to family which reflects in his dedication and commitment to his healing work. If you are serious about healing yourself.....let this man help you!
I've seen many chiropractors over the years and Dr. Tacusalme is the best. He has what I call a "healer's touch". It's not just that he has a great grasp of biomechanics and the logistics of the body but his work is special in other ways. There's a quality to his adjustments that allow me feel more relaxed and balanced afterward than other chiropractors. I once sprained my ankle very badly; I went to Dr. Tacusalme and not a regular, Western-medicine doctor and he did a great job. The ankle healed beautifully... better than the other ankle that had been sprained in an accident a few years prior (and that ankle had been treated by an outrageously expensive orthopedic doc who treated me like a number). I recommend him to all my peeps!

I have been getting regular treatments from Dr. Tacusalme for about 12 yrs. He is the only physician that I consult with on a regular basis. He is the perfect match for me as a practicioner of self healing through qigong and nutritional and herbal remedies. He has aided in my complete healing of mid back spinal pain and a few ankle and foot injuries. His hands seem to find the right places. In spite of the human fallability factor, I have never been hurt by him in my twice monthly sessions for well over a decade. He has great skill in keying in on fine adjustments as well as possessing an incredible knowledge of manipulating all body areas with his caring touch.
In addition to his remarkable technique, Dr. Rabbonni is a lover of people and truly believes in his work. People feel like he is their friend.

ahhh...what a wonderful relief i received today at axis. i have seen this practitioner for many years now and each time i make a visit, i leave completely satisfied. i think it is important to note the a good chiropractor has the ability to listen ask the right kinds of questions and then treat accordingly. this has been my exp. since my first visit.
dr. t is wise and is dr who has his heart in the right place which is to help his folks get better. just ask for what you need and you shall receive with this one!

When I saw Dr. Rabboni Taculsame, I had a lower back pain that my primary care physician thought I was "faking" as part of a workmen's comp claim. I made my appointment & Dr. T asked me several questions about my pain. Up until then I had never considered Chiropractic medicine. The Dr. made me feel comfortable & relaxed. After treatment we made a follow up appointment. Upon my return I explained to the Dr. that I still had the lower back pain. He thought for a minute and suggested that I may have an "internal" problem. I made another appointment with my primary care physician & I was admitted to the hospital for a C.T. scan. I was diagnosed with stage 2 Lymphoma. After chemo I am now cancer free. I truly believe Dr. Tacusalme started my healing process. Not necessarily thru his knowledge of Chiropractic medicine, but, his knowledge of the human body. Today's medical practice is so muddled in insurance & medical groups, it is so easy for your "primary care" physician to be more concerned with pharmaceutical salesmen & keeping records for insurance payments, that treating the Patient is secondary. If you are looking for a caring, patient & educated individual, then see Dr. Tacusalme.

I have been a patient since Jan 2008 and am eternally grateful that I found Axis Chiropractic. I have suffered from chronic back pain for about 15 years, the result of a congenital condition, and I cannot describe the relief and improvement in mobility/function my visits have given me..in my experience, I did not respond well at all to osteopathy (I persisted for quite a while when I was younger) and while I had some relief from acupuncture I felt it was treating the symptoms (ie. pain) and not the cause. I think it's important to point out that, as a research scientist with a Ph.D. in the biomedical field, I do not take decisions based on my health and well-being lightly (nor do I make uninformed decisions in the same context).
My initial visit was after a 10 hour plane journey where someone in front had their seat back jammed right into me (I am 6'5")...I could hardly walk when I disembarked and had a flare-up, including very painful back spasms..even walking and standing up straight was exceedingly painful...my back even completely locked up in bed that night and I could not move for several hours...it's acute pain and discomfort I wouldn't wish on anyone.
I started visiting Dr Rabbonni Tacusalme the next day and, in a short time, he helped me to recover 100% mobility. I visit weekly to maintain a healthy back and spine and I feel more flexible than I have in years. Speaking as someone who regularly interacts with medical doctors in their profession, I would say that Dr. Tacusalme is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely seems interested in my overall health..much more than some MDs I've visited in the US revolving-door health system. Back pain is not easily remedied and one needs to be patient on the road to recovery...I have benefited enormously from regular visits in conjunction with the exercises he gives me to do at home...my visits include adjustments etc. plus comprehensively outlining what I should be doing at home/work to help maintain the good work he is doing. My posture has also improved greatly (although I think I could put more effort into improving that myself !)
He is an incredibly friendly guy (as are all the staff) and I always look forward to my appointments..he always makes an effort to fit me into his schedule. He was very upfront on pricing etc. from the very start (I think you should also have the very basic common sense to ask if you are unsure though) and I have no objections there...on a personal note, he and everyone else that I've met at the practice have the good grace to laugh at my terrible jokes..always a plus ;)

Rabbonni has *great* hands. He's also got personal knowledge of injury (due to his past as a competitive skater) and can embrace holistic medicine without ignoring lessons from anatomy and techniques from Western science, including hot pads, elec. stim. and ultrasound. Most importantly, as other reviewers noted, he's a patient listener and will take the time to work with you to figure out an appropriate plan for recovery and maintenance.
No clammy-handed mumbling new-age noodlehead, he!
Over the past 8 years I've referred dozens of my friends and co-workers here, and everyone adores Rabbonni. And he's built his storefront into a "healing center" with other practitioners (massage, rehab) working in the same spot, for a one-stop pain shop.

Dr. Tacusalme is one of the most gifted, knowledgeable healers in any profession I've ever met. I've seen many chiropractors and body workers for some chronic problems, and Rabbonni's deep knowledge of body mechanics, treatment therapies, and rehab approaches, combined with his emotional insight and empathy, is unique.
His staff all have a warm, generous spirit, a reflection of Rabbonni's own. One of my big regrets in moving from the Bay Area is losing my relationship with this truly gifted group of people.
I have been seeing Dr. Lisa Mercury-Rea at (Axis Chiropractic) for several years now. I was in a major car accident years ago for which I have chronic pain in my neck. I always notice a difference when I see Dr. Lisa regularly. When I forget to schedule an appointment, I can always tell because I begin to wonder why I'm feeling so much pain. Then, I schedule an appointment and within a few visits I'm back to feeling better again. She has a way of blending several techniques that make it a whole body experience. I leave her office feeling relaxed. She truly has that healing touch. Thank you Lisa for helping me to feel great!

Dr. Tacusalme has helped me so much! When I first walked into his office my back was in awful shape but he's helped me get my quality of life back! He rules and I give him my highest recommendation. He's kind, thorough, and patient. His office staff is very nice as well.
I just had the most amazing chiropractic treatment ever from Dr. Rabbonni Tacusalme. I've been to many chiropractors over the years, and thought that I had found the best, Dr. Rabbonni takes the cake! He is an attentive listener, asking very pointed and useful questions, with a friendly, comfortable demeanor. He adjusted points on my spine that either have never been adjusted, or haven't been adjusted in years! I walked out of there floating on air. I also, purely by my own inspiration, immediately made another appointment. I highly, absolutely, recommend Dr. Rabbonni!
Tacusalme was recommended to me by two good friends who swear by him and now I do too. Dr Tacusalme has a great holistic approach to getting me back into alignment. He's also a lot of fun to talk to about sports and running a small business. I highly recommend him to anyone that would benefit from chiropractic work.

I recommend my clients to him, when they are looking for chiropractic work. I have heard through our community he is fabulous with feet problems.
I especially like that his integrated care utilizes a variety of techniques or modalities. I recommend him!
